It’s time to descend for the first time into the twisting underground warrens of Deephold! We are releasing an initial playtest version of the six short arc adventures that compose the major chapters of the Exiles of Deephold campaign book. This is not by any means the final product – we know many of you plan to run the full campaign with your groups, and this document doesn’t contain all the resources you’ll need to do that. What it does allow you to do is get a taste of the kinds of adventures and threats you’ll be throwing at your players, and familiarize yourself with each chapter by running them in their self-contained, short arc variants.

While we are reworking and editing the final Exiles of Deephold PDF, this earlyaccess version includes the original 6 individual adventures combined into 1 PDF that we have released to our Subscribers pre Kickstarter so that you can get stuck in before the full version comes about.
NOT THE FINAL VERSION [Plenty of content to come]
The final version will include new content such as new monsters, a bunch of new art, many text changes, and a major adaptation to its layout and structure. We are releasing this Early Access version as we want that you have something to sink your teeth into in the interim. To our past Subscribers, if you have the original PDFs from our monthly releases, this version will not offer you any new information.
Six standalone dark fantasy adventures [ the same ones that were released to Patreons] A whole heap of monster statblocks. A bundle of NPC entries. A large trove of magic items. A playtest document. We’d love to hear any feedback you guys have about any of the monsters, encounters, NPCs, etc, in this document.
What this Document ISN’T:
Not a finalized version of the book. Graphical elements, layout, and many encounter maps are changing dramatically before full release. Visually, this is the roughest version of Exiles of Deephold that will ever exist.
Not a full campaign. None of the Interlude Sections or the Campaign Overview that string together the adventures into a full campaign are present here. Those are being worked through right now. We’re trying to make sure these are as simple and intuitive to use as possible, so they’re going through a bunch of revisions.
Not A finalized bestiary. All the 3D render visuals currently being used for the monster sections will be replaced with coloured art in the final product. Additionally, we’re playtesting through every statblock to make sure they’re all as tightly balanced as possible – a lot of them will change with the final release.
Go forth and descend into the dark! We’d love to hear from you about your feedback on all these adventures!

There was so much interest in Dark Descent we decided to do a whole EXTRA month of content via our Tribes / Patreon release. More monsters, an additional one shot adventure set in Deephold.Â
NOTE TO KICKSTARTER BAKERS: All the written content and art (statblocks, lore, art, new monsters, etc) of the upcoming April Dark Descent: Low Town Tribes/Patreon release will be included in the final books/PDFs that are part of the Dark Descent Kickstarter.Â
New STLs not included: Dark Descent: Low Town also contains the 8 NPC STLs from the pre-campaign follower stretch goals which you receive automatically if you have backed the Dark Descent Kickstarter at Digital Deluxe or higher, as well as 17 new minis and alternative poses that are not included in the Kickstarter Campaign. In the next few days we will start our smoke test - sending out the survey to a random 5% of our backers. This is done to ensure all systems work correctly before we send out the survey to all backers.Â
Once we see the smoke test is working well (roughly a week) we will send it out to the rest of you in a week or two! Wohoo! (unless there are any surprises).

Digital Rewards Distribution [Not ready yet]
Your Digital Rewards (Non-STLs) are being made! We are writing, editing, designing and doing layout work etc. Once they are ready, they will be available to you in the following ways:
Roll20 or Alchemy VTT conversions: personal code via Backerkit.Â
PDFs, Digital assets, battlemaps, Foundry VTT, VTT tokens and PDFs: Via Backerkit Download AND in your MyMiniFactory library.
Backers who should receive any of the previous Kickstarter Hardcovers (The Hoard Of Ghaundal / Mammoth Chronicles) can elect to have these sent to them early. You will be asked if you wish to do so when filling up your survey.
Once the survey is closed, backers who chose this option will receive an email from our fulfillment partner asking to confirm their address and pay for separate shipping.Â

We are moving along with editing, layout and graphics for both books, here are some sample from out current stage - still WIP
We are re-gridding all the maps, and upgrading them to be ready for print (color corrections, catching mistakes... some making completely new)
 We are working on logos for each territory/factions and also how humans mark for dangers warning about different types of monsters

Dark Descent Late Pledge is LIVE! (NOT Pledge Manager or Upgrades yet, that comes later)
Dark Descent - if you missed the campaign you can now Late Pledge via our Pre-order store now that the Kickstarter has ended. The same Tiers and Addons will be available if you still want to get Dark Descent before we start fulfilling the campaign. The only things not available in the late pledges are the Eye of Malashai Pin, the Kickstarter exclusive STL Stretch Goals and the ability to have your name eternalized in the book when you back the All-In or All Kickstarters tiers - those were all Kickstarter Exclusives!

Alchemy VTT - We are proud to have partnered with Alchemy VTT to give you the option to now also chose Alchemy as your VTT conversion option if you have backed a tier or chosen an Addon that includes VTT conversions.
SONGS OF THE ANCIENTS - We will create lore handouts for Digital Deluxe and higher tiers that players can find and attempt to decipher that tell the lore and ruin of the Anak empire in immersive story fragments.
Tales of Delvers Past - Each region within Deephold will feature a in world short story from the view of other delvers that came before. Through their stories DM's can get an immediate grasp of the terror and awe that each region has in store. Â (It is NOT a Kickstarter exclusive - that logo is incorrect)
Pledge Manager & Timeline - Not yet!
We will keep you updated when the Pledge Manager goes live - which is not yet - for you to adjust your pledge and add add-ons and we will inform you on the next steps for Dark Descent.Â
Regarding production timeline, we have started to get quotes from 3 different manufacturers, now that we have the final product list (more or less) we can start checking where it makes sense to produce it all.Â
In the meantime, we are starting to schedule and contact the artist we want to work with to make the art and all the writing that needs to be done. We are officially on our way - but making any kind of time estimates is something we will be able to do better next month.
